our story
Trinity Pentecostal Church officially began in Verdun in 1927 and then relocated to LaSalle in 1970. In October 2008, Trinity moved from its former building on Champlain Blvd. to our present facilities at 1050 Shevchenko Blvd. after renovating a former Nautilus Gym.
Trinity is a very multi-cultural congregation with over 65 nations represented. Our diversity is what links us together. People come from all over the Greater Montreal Region and the size of the congregation, those who call this church their home, is over 700 people.
We are known as a welcoming people, striving to impact our community in any way we can help. Serving others is of utmost importance and we take advantage of opportunities to give to people in need throughout the year.
Trinity Pentecostal Church is a non-profit organization incorporated under the “Loi sur les Corporations Religieuses” of the Province of Quebec. It is an autonomous self-supporting church.
Trinity is a democratic church governed by its official members and an elected board of directors designated as the “Church Board of Deacons”. It has several pastors, directors and support staff on its payroll on a part time and full time basis.
This year we are celebrating 90 years as a church. We hope you'll be there to ring in this special occasion with us!
Moving forward, our desire is to continue reaching our community of Lasalle and the city of Montreal.
basic doctrines
The Trinity:
We believe in one true and living God, revealed to us as the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19, I Jn. 1:1,14
The Saviour:
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, his substitutionary death for our sins, bodily resurrection and imminent return in power and glory. Matt. 1:21-25, Isa. 53:5, Matt. 28:5-6; Acts 1:9; John 14:3
The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit: • By the inward witness of salvation to the believer. Romans 8:16 • By daily guidance and the growth of Christ-like character. John 16:13; Galatians 5:22-23 • By the baptism of the Holy Spirit, an experience distinct from and subsequent to the new birth, evidenced initially by speaking with other tongues, and subsequently by the manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony & service. This is available to every believer. Acts 1:8, 2:4, 10:44-46, 19:2,6).
The Bible:
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant, and complete revelation of
God's will for man. In the Bible, God reveals His plan of salvation as well as, His will for our daily lives.
II Tim. 3:16-17; I Peter 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12
The Human Race:
We believe man was created in God's image. By voluntary sin man fell
but in Jesus Christ there is the assurance of redemption,Gen. 1:26- 31, 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-21. Men are saved solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, it is not by works but is a gift from God.
Confessing Jesus as Lord in our lives leads to the direct witness of the Spirit of God in our hearts. The outward evidence
is a life of holiness based on God's Word and a deep love for God and others. Our works are evidence of our faith and
will determine our rewards in eternity. Rom. 3:24; 10:8-10; 8:16; I Jn. 3:23; Jn. 13:35; Rom. 10:9-10, 14:10-12; II Cor. 5:10; Eph. 2:8-9; James 2:18
The Church:
We believe in the unity of all true believers as Members of the universal Church (the Body of Christ) regardless of denominational affiliation. Eph. 1:22, 2:19-22; Heb. 12:23
The Declaration (Water Baptism):
We believe in water baptism by immersion as a public declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and has risen
with Him to walk a life of holiness and love. Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Rom. 6:4
The Lord's Supper (Communion):
We believe in the celebration of the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Jesus and His great sacrificial love. I Cor. 11:24-30
The Coming King:
We believe Jesus Christ is coming again to gather His saints unto Himself. I Cor. 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:16-17; II Thess. 2:1. • Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Christ will suffer eternal separation from God, 2 Thess. 1:7-10; Rev. 19:20, 20:10-15. • We also believe in the Millennial Reign of Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ will return with His saints from Heaven to rule and reign on the earth for one thousand years as the Scriptures have promised, Rev. 19:11-16, 20:1-4. After this, there will be a new heaven and a new earth, Rev. 21:1-4.
