Sunday Service: Heart Prep

Message: A King That Sacrifices
Speaker: Pastor Misha Khromyak

When it comes to our everyday lives, very often we need to sacrifice something in order to gain something else. Unfortunately, some people use their positions of power in order to sacrifice the interests and even the lives of those in their care to obtain personal gain. Yet, the work and relationships within the Trinity is an amazing example of how God, despite holding absolute power and authority, chooses to sacrificially exercise that power in our world.
Join us this Sunday as we discover the ways in which the Trinity, and the relationships therein, serve as a model for our everyday decisions, both personally and relationally.

Hymn Sing

Please note that there has been a slight change in time for the upcoming Hymn Sing on Saturday, July 15th; it will now begin at 9:30am with a 'bring your own lunch' luncheon at 11am. Hymns will be sung based on requests made in advance. You can make your hymn requests known by either emailing them to nbelec@trinitymontreal.ca or at the Welcome Centre on Sunday. Deadline for requests will be Wednesday, July 12th. Please register via the Welcome Centre or here.

All are welcome for a time of song and celebration as we worship the Lord through these timeless melodies.

Open Gym

If you are between the ages of 12-17, take note that the gym will now be open Wednesdays from 2pm-4pm and Fridays at 6pm just for you. Come by for some sports and activities or just to hang out!

Bible Readthrough

Trinity Youth is hosting a Bible Readthrough, starting with the book of Genesis all the way through to Revelation. Their first session took place this past Tuesday and will continue next Tuesday with Genesis 18. The sessions will continue to take place in the chapel every Tuesday, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm with a certain number of people reading each time, each taking turns to finish their part as everyone else follows along. All are welcome as we read through the entire Bible together!

Men's Ministry Restaurant Breakfast

The Men's Ministry will be holding a men’s fellowship breakfast at a local restaurant tomorrow, Saturday July 8th, at 8:30am. If you haven't registered in the past, please email Nathan Lysak at nathanlysak@gmail.com for more information and to be added to the list.

Missions Team Garage Sale

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, July 8th, from 8am to 12:30pm for Trinity's Missions Team Garage Sale! Prepare to embark on a treasure hunt while making a meaningful impact. Parents and kids, save the date for this year's VBS taking place August 7th to 11th. Please take note that we will be taking up a special offering on Sunday, July 16th. Registrations also begin the same day. More details to come in the coming weeks!

Message: Fixing Our Gaze on the Unseen Promise
Speaker: Richard Swiatek

Jesus assured us that “in this life we will have trouble.” Some of us have more than others, but no one can escape the storms of life.

In 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 the apostle Paul writes: “Therefore we do not lose
heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being
renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us
an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is
seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen
is eternal.

This Sunday, we will be looking at ways in which trials and hardships can transform
us into the men and women God calls us to be. I will also be sharing biblical truth
to help us navigate the storms and arrive at an eternal glory that will eclipse any
difficulties we may have experienced in our earthly lives.

Are you going through a struggle?
How do you think it is transforming you?
What do you think Jesus is trying to say to you?

Join us this Sunday as we share communion and a time of prayer at the altar. We will fix our eyes on Jesus and trust that He will bring us through to victory. Jesus reminds us “ take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Hymn Sing

After a few years on pause, Trinity Worship is hosting another Hymn Sing on Saturday, July 15th -- the first one since 2019.
All are welcome for a time of song and celebration as we worship the Lord through these timeless melodies. Feel free to bring your own lunch and join us from 11-12 as we break bread together, followed shortly after by the Hymn Sing itself.

Hymns will be sung based on requests made in advance. You can make your hymn requests known by either emailing them to nbelec@trinitymontreal.ca or at the Welcome Centre on Sunday. Deadline for requests will be Wednesday, July 12th. Please register via the Welcome Centre or here.

March for Jesus

On Saturday, July 8th, starting at 10am at 1010 Rue de la Gauchetière, March for Jesus will be hosting its annual walk through the streets of downtown Montreal to demonstrate unity and love in Christ. On that day, the love of Jesus will be displayed for everyone in our city to witness. Hi ,Join us this Sunday as we come together to honor and celebrate all the incredible fathers in our lives. We want to take a moment to recognize the commitment, selflessness, and love that fathers provide to their families.
On this special day, we also want to extend our prayers to those who have lost their fathers, those who may be longing to be fathers, or those who have faced obstacles on their journey to fatherhood. We understand that Father's Day can be bittersweet for many, and we offer our love and support to those who may find this day challenging.
Finally, we want to thank all those who have been and continue to be father figures to those without. We invite you to join us this Sunday in celebrating these incredible men. Happy Father's Day!

Series: Gideon - The Making of a Mighty Warrior
Message: Cleaning up your own backyard

Last week, we talked about taking extreme ownership for our lives. “Go in the strength that you have” and “Am I not calling you?” is what we learned. It is often challenging to stop looking for excuses for being unable to step up to the challenge that God is giving us. Extreme ownership of your life is step one in the making of a Mighty Warrior. Step two is cleaning up your own backyard!

Can you identify a “dark corner” in your life that you were able to overcome?
What are the elements that helped you come to this point in your life?
How does setting your inner life straight before God help with the activity of your outer life?

We encourage you to read the passage in Judges 6:19-32 in preparation for this Sunday. See you soon!

Family Service

This Sunday, June 18th, we will be having a special Family Service. Children will be welcomed to sit with their parents in the sanctuary and have the opportunity to listen to a specially curated sermon as a family. Please note that no child services will be offered. The nursery will be open but unmanned.

This Sunday marks the beginning of a new series on the making of a Mighty Warrior. Throughout the summer, we will be looking at some of the major themes of Gideon’s life and how those principles can be applied to our own lives. In this first instalment, we will cover how Gideon's story starts and how God calls him to extreme ownership of his life and calling to serve the Lord.

Have you ever given an excuse to someone because you really didn’t want to do what was asked?
How are you able to identify when people are giving you excuses?
Do you give God excuses as reasons for not moving forward with His calling for your life? What are they?

Road Construction on Shevchenko Blvd.

Starting on Monday, June 12th, Shevchenko Blvd. will be undergoing road construction. Our church building will remain accessible. However, to facilitate the flow of traffic within the church parking lot, we ask that you enter our lot by the Shevchenko entrance and exit by the back onto Sylvester street, maintaining a counter clockwise flow of traffic within the lot. Thank you for your cooperation in this manner.

Youth Graduation

On Friday, June 16th, the youth are throwing a potluck party to celebrate the end of the school year with a special highlight for the youth who are graduating. Whether you are finishing highschool, elementary, or your first year in Quebec's “classe d'accueil”, we want to celebrate your achievement. Parents and siblings are also invited.

If you plan on obeying Christ’s command to get baptized in order to demonstrate your faith publicly, then we invite you to sign up for our next Baptismal service. By signing up, you are committing to attending a mandatory preparation course in which we will cover the following topics:

Who is Jesus and what does it mean to follow in His footsteps?
Learning to talk to God and hear His voice
The importance of reading the Bible and attending church
The meaning and impact of water baptism

Once you have signed up, we will contact you and provide you with the necessary information regarding the time and place of the classes.

Volunteer Opportunity - Video Editing Assistant

Trinity Pentecostal Church is expanding its media ministry to reach more people with the gospel. Over the past few months, our ministry has been engaging with over 1000 people weekly, providing motivation, encouragement, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.Our media team is searching for a video editing assistant willing to commit 1 to 2 hours a week to help us prepare three short video clips from our Sunday sermons. We will provide the appropriate training to ensure a successful volunteer experience.

This Sunday is Missions Sunday!

At Trinity, our passion for missions is evident through the overwhelming response we receive whenever we present a project or a need around the world. Just a few weeks ago, we held a "Pledge Sunday", during which we embarked on an ambitious plan to enhance our monthly salary support to Global Workers by 50%. We are thrilled to share that we not only achieved our goal but surpassed it!

This Sunday, we encourage you to join us as we welcome guest speaker, Murray Cornelius, who will share how we can best support the work of the Gospel in today's world!

Message: God's Rescue Mission

It is our great pleasure to welcome Murray Cornelius to our platform this Sunday. Murray has been in the role of director for Mission Global for the PAOC for the past 17 years. As of last year, PAOC Missions is:

257 Global workers
70 countries
about 8000 sponsored children
almost 800 Bible graduates in this past year

Murray has 21 staff members that take care of everything from administration, communications, strategy and mobilization, education and training, donor care, and everything in between. He also regularly visits churches where he promotes missions wherever and whenever he can. This Sunday is our turn to welcome him.

BG's @ Funzone

On May 26th, BG's will exceptionally be taking place at Funzone, our local indoor amusement park. If you are interested in having your child(ren) attend, please see Colleen Watkins after either service on Sunday. The cost is $5 per child. Please note that children under 6 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Youth Graduation

Trinity is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Youth Graduation get together on June 16th for all the youth that are graduating Highschool this year. For more information, please contact our Youth Ministry Leader, Nathan Orfin at norfin@trinitymontreal.ca.

"Mother Hunger" Workshop

On Saturday, May 27th from 10am to 2pm in the Chapel, Debra Nurse will be hosting a workshop titled "Mother Hunger".

"Mother Hunger" is specifically designed to help adult women understand and heal from the pain of not receiving the nurturing, protection, wisdom, and guidance that should have been provided by their biological mothers. Through personal testimonies, group coaching, and art therapy, we will explore and work on the repercussions of not bonding with an emotionally compromised mother. This workshop is an opportunity to fill the void that still remains and to begin to heal the wounds that come from not experiencing a mother's love.

Message: The Treasure of Discernment
Speaker: Pastor Paul Lasanté

This Sunday already marks our third instalment of our Family Foundations series. In this upcoming sermon, we will look at the treasure of discernment. The topic tends to be very wide but when we look at Scripture, we find that it describes discernment in very concrete terms. The four “cornerstones” of discernment are:

Critical thinking
Asking God
Unselfish motives
Non-conformity

I believe that to lead people and have influence (especially in our families!), we need to learn to build these characteristics in our homes.

In which areas of your life do you successfully apply discernment?
Can you identify weakness? In which areas?
Do you spend more time directing behaviour or trying to influence the ideas that motivate behaviour?

This Sunday, we will discuss how the events of Pentecost influenced early Christianity, equipping and preparing them for their historical mission. We will talk about how, through Pentecost, God united what was divided at the Tower of Babel and how Holy Spirit baptism reconciled Jews and Gentiles.

Join us this Sunday to participate in this exciting adventure as we rediscover Pentecost.

Hi, We would like to extend an invitation to join us for our Good Friday and Easter Sunday services.
On Good Friday, we will be wrapping up our current series A Word From the Cross to reflect on the final words of Jesus: "It is finished." This powerful statement marks the completion of Christ's mission and his ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. This solemn and pensive service will be held on Friday, April 7th at 7:00 PM.
Then, on Easter Sunday, through the theme “A Promise of Victory”, we will gather to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour! In addition to the many special elements that will take place at this service, we will witness the baptisms of those deciding to take the next step in their faith journey. We encourage you to invite your family, friends, and neighbours to join us in worship for this joyous occasion on Sunday, April 9th at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM.

Please take note that these services will be Family Services. This means that children will be invited to sit with their parents in the sanctuary and have the opportunity to listen to a specially curated sermon as a family. Message: “Resurrection: Forgiveness, Power, and Triumph!”

Easter Sunday morning is the pinnacle of the Christian calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As believers, we place great significance on this event, as it confirms our faith and hope in eternal life. The words of 1 Corinthians 15:17 hold true for us: “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.”

Today, as I finish preparing my message for Sunday, many people are without power. This situation brings to mind the questions that people have about the church and its relevance in today's world. Today, as we open our church building to those who are in need, let us be reminded of the hope and comfort that can be found in the truth of the resurrection.

What does the resurrection mean to you?
Does knowing that Jesus is alive change the way you live everyday?

We invite you to be encouraged by the music, witness the baptisms, and hear a message of hope that is just as relevant now as it was over 2,000 years ago.

Annual Business Meeting

On Sunday, April 23rd, we will be hosting our Annual Business Meeting right after a single Sunday morning service held at 10am. Therefore, we will be having only ONE service instead of our usual 9am and 11am services. Please make a note that the service will start at 10am and the meeting will follow immediately at 11:30am.

"What is an annual business meeting," you might ask? Well, it mostly serves two main functions: to review this past year's church finances and ministry reports, and to vote in new or current board members for the next term. Anyone is welcome to attend but only registered members are permitted to nominate and vote on the future board members.

If you are interested in what will be discussed at this year's meeting, feel free to pick up and consult the 2023 Annual Business Meeting Report Booklet containing the minutes of last year’s meeting, an agenda for this year, reports from ministries and reports of our church finances. The booklet can be picked up this Sunday.

In 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Paul reminds us of the significance of Communion: "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes."This Sunday, we encourage you to join us as we come together to remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior as we partake in Communion together.

As we approach Palm Sunday this weekend, it's a time for reflection on the significance of this holy day. One of the most poignant moments of the crucifixion is when Jesus cries out to God, feeling abandoned and alone: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" This moment of profound separation and despair is a reminder of the depth of Christ's sacrifice and the immense love that led him to the cross.

Did you notice that Jesus for the first time refers to “My God” rather than “My Father.” Why do you think that is?
Which can be worse: emotional or physical pain?
Why did Jesus have to experience separation from his father in order to atone for our sins?

As we welcome the arrival of spring, I hope that it brings you a sense of rejuvenation and renewal. See you Sunday!

Jesus, despite experiencing physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering on the cross, still took the time to address his mother in a heart-felt and personal way. This moment reveals the heart of the Christ of glory, who not only addressed the cosmic issue of sin and atonement but also showed concern for the personal struggles of his friends and relatives.

Why doesn’t Jesus ask his other siblings to care for their mother?
What can we learn from Jesus making sure his mother is taken care of after he is gone?
How can we take responsibility as Christians for the care of seniors?

Sunday Service: Heart Prep

Message: "I thirst"
Speaker: Richard Swiatek

As we continue our series on Words from the Cross, this week we look at Jesus declaring that he is thirsty.
We can sometimes overlook the humanity of Jesus as we read of all the amazing miracles he performed. We tend to see him as God in the flesh. It is also important to remember that as Jesus hung hour after hour on the cross, he was fully human. Only a human could pay the penalty for our sins. Someone who knew what it is to experience all of our pain and trouble. His intense thirst points us to his humanity. What set Jesus apart and made him the perfect sacrifice was that he never sinned against God.

Please take the time to read the following verses to see Christ’s humanity. As you read, remember that He knows all that you are experiencing and is willing to carry those burdens for you if you would only ask Him.

2 Corinthians 5:21: God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Hebrews 2:14: Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil.
Hebrews 4:15: For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet He did not sin.
Matthew 4:2: After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
John 4:7: When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”
John 19:28: Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”

Message: A Word from the Cross: Salvation

The word from the cross this Sunday is “Salvation”. Consider the statement that Jesus makes to one of the criminals crucified next to him in Luke 23:43 : “Today, you will be with me in paradise”. Being in a position of suffering and imminent death, this must have been an incredible moment of comfort and victory for that criminal.

Do you have this kind of confidence about what will happen in your afterlife?
What is it about what the criminal says to Jesus that is so key to his salvation?
How might this situation have gone differently if Jesus had defended himself from the insults that were at this moment being used against him?

This Sunday will be another great opportunity to invite a friend or family member who doesn’t know the Lord. Blessings to you today!

What a wonderful opportunity to look at the details of the death and resurrection of Jesus over the next several weeks. “A Word from the Cross” is the name of our series starting this Sunday that will cover the elements of the Passion story through the lens of Jesus’ own words from the cross. This Sunday we will look at the first words from the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Take a look at these questions to prepare your heart:

Do you feel like you understand the extent to which your actions, past or present, have offended God?
Do you think that it is necessary for you to recognize the depravity of your sin before Jesus can forgive it?

This series will offer a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbours to church. Let’s believe that God can change hearts and minds through the words of Jesus from the cross. Blessings to you today!

Lost and Found

Our lost and found collection has grown quite a bit over the last few years. For the following 2 Sundays, March 5th and 12th, after the service, we invite you to come take a look at the tables we have set up to see if you find anything familiar to you. Anything unclaimed by Monday, March 13th will be discarded.

Men's Breakfast

It’s time for another Men’s Breakfast here at Trinity. On Saturday, March 25th, at 9am, join us at church for a full breakfast with our guest speaker Phil Linton. You can sign up at the welcome center after the service or on the app. Cost is $10. Come for the food and stay for the fellowship.

Easter Choir Call

Do you have a passion for singing? Ever had the desire to be part of a greater group of singers, but perhaps find yourself held back due to timidness or lack of time? The choir is a great opportunity to get your feet wet without long-term obligation. We welcome all who have a passion for song and a desire to be part of a vibrant community of singers. This Easter Sunday Service, April 9th at 9am and 11am, let your voice be heard and join us in spreading the message of hope in Christ through music.

I am so excited to start this new series about Family Foundations. Today's key verse can be found in Proverbs 24:3 - 4: “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”
Often, due to a lack of Scriptural understanding about how to cultivate family life, we miss out on the blessings and joys that God intended for our families.
This Sunday, I will focus on the treasure of resolve.

Are there things in your life that you have resolved to do or be? What are they?
Are there elements of your family life that you have resolved to implement and followed through?
When times get tough in your relationship with your spouse or with your children, does it cross your mind to give up?

Please take note that Estella Delaney's memorial service is taking place this Saturday, April 22nd at 11am at Trinity Church.

Video Editing Assistant Needed

Trinity Pentecostal Church is expanding its media ministry to reach more people with the gospel. Over the past two months, our ministry has been engaging with over 1000 people weekly, providing motivation, encouragement, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our media team is searching for a video editing assistant to help us prepare three short video clips from our Sunday sermons. If you are:

Passionate about spreading the message of God,
Can identify the main ideas of a Sunday message,
Possess basic computer skills, and
Can commit to two hours of volunteer work a week,

This Sunday we will look at one of the reasons why Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice for us: our sin. A key passage in this Sunday's message will be Romans 7:21-25. Please take time to read it and its context while considering the following questions:

Why do you think Christians always seem to be talking about sin?
Which of the following statements do you consider to be more biblical: “I am basically good and sometimes I make bad choices” OR “I am basically evil and sometimes I make good choices"?
Would you be able to describe to a non-believing friend or neighbor how to get free of sin?

Call to Leadership Seminar – Serving and Compassion

Wednesday, March 8th @ 7:00pm

Join us for our very first "Serving and Compassion" seminar as it launches on Wednesday, March 8th. This seminar is part of our ongoing Call to Leadership series.

Our aim at Trinity is to serve people with a heart of respect, dignity, and compassion. If you are already serving or interested in serving at Trinity, this discipleship group is for you. The topics covered in this seminar are as follows:

The definition of being a Christian: showing compassion and serving one another
Compassion etiquette: how to show compassion in practical ways
Testimonies: “The impact that serving has had on myself and others”
The do’s and don’ts of welcoming people to your church

Come and be encouraged and developed in your Christian service.

Annual Business Meeting 2023 – Board Member Nominations

On Sunday April 23rd at 6pm, Trinity will be holding its Annual Business Meeting. "What is an annual business meeting" you might ask? Well, it mostly serves two main functions: to review this past year's church finances and ministry reports, and to vote in new or current board members for the next term. Anyone is welcome to attend, but only registered members (partners) are permitted to nominate and vote on future board members.

That being said, this Sunday, February 26th, and the following two Sundays, March 5th and 12th, we invite our members to nominate two future board members. You will be able to do so at the Welcome Center after both services where more specific instructions will be available.

Hi ,"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him." (Psalm 127:3)

This Sunday, February 19th, we will be having a special Family Service. Children will be welcomed to sit with their parents in the sanctuary and have the opportunity to listen to a specially curated sermon as a family. Please note that no child services will be offered. The nursery will be open but unmanned.

This special service will also be an opportunity for you to dedicate your child(ren) to the Lord by taking a moment to publicly thank God for the precious gift of your child.

We encourage you to prepare your hearts for a wonderful time of unity in the family of Christ.

Message: Faith in the Digital Age

This Sunday, during our “family service”, we will focus on the message of “Faith in the Digital Age.” Never before has there been so many things that can “easily entangle us” (Hebrew 12:1) with the views and doctrines of this world. The floodgate through which most of these influences come are digital devices. Here’s a few questions to think about before Sunday:

Do you believe that it is a parent’s role to control the access that children have to phones or computers?
Should adults also be accountable to someone for their access to the internet?
What role do digital devices play in relation to our walk with God?

Youth Basketball

Trinity's youth group will be playing basketball at church this Saturday, February 18th, from 2pm to 4pm.
Come out and join the youth as they play against their leaders - who have become way too confident and need to be taught a lesson in humility. Come shatter their egos by dropping 3's, stealing the ball, and winning it all!
This is an excellent opportunity to invite your friends or to get to know our youth group if you are new.

Children's Bowling

On Sunday, February 26th, Trinity Kid's Church is going BOWLING after the 11am service!

Please bring a lunch for your family and join us as we eat together after the service and then head over to Les Quilles G Plus located at 1277 boulevard Shevchenko. The cost is $10 per child. Register directly with Colleen.

First Steps: a five-week class on the basics of Christianity

If you are new to Trinity Church or would simply like to understand the basics of Christianity, this class is for you! Starting on Sunday, February 19th at 10am, Pastor Mykhaylo "Misha" Khromyak will be covering the following topics over the course of 5 weeks:

Who is Jesus?
What does it mean to follow in His footsteps?
Learning to talk to God and hear His voice
The importance of reading the Bible and attending church

These classes will take place on the second floor of the church, in the Board Room, at 10am on Sundays. They will end before the start of the second service in order for you to be able to attend both the class and the service. If this is something you are interested in, please register here.
